The permanent exhibition is designed in and around a Hoffmann kiln, comprising two parallel 32-metre-long galleries. The tour is punctuated by media, raised-relief models and audio narratives presenting the themes of water (source of life and energy, navigation route), earth (nourishing element and founder of the Pays Loire Val d?Aubois), fire (creative element common to the industries of the Val d?Aubois) and people, the actors at the heart of these activities. Terracotta is the common thread running through this journey, evoked through the processes involved in transforming clay. A stroll through the Sauvard tile kiln will also take you into the world of bats, the site?s mysterious hidden residents.
