A perfect example of gothic art, the Saint-Gatien cathedral displays all the aspects of this period. Built during the 13th and 14th centuries on the vestiges of the Gallo-Roman city, its elaborate flamboyant façade is beautiful under the night lights. In addition to its remarkable stained-glass windows, it houses the tomb of the children of Anne of Brittany and Charles VIII, gracefully sculpted around 1500. Saint-Gatien Cathedral (12th-16th centuries) is Gothic in style. The 15 stained glass windows of the choir (13th century) and the three rosaries (13th, 14th and 15th centuries)are remarkable.
