In this lecture-performance, artist-choreographer Élisa Yvelin and chef Anatole Berger take you on a tasting journey through the mineral, plant, fungal and animal kingdoms. By tracing the history of tuffeau?s formation and extraction, a dialogue is created between it and living humans and non-humans, across species boundaries and geological time scales.
By bringing the stone into contact and resonating with it, the dances of translation reveal the relationships that are created at the heart of troglodytic quarries that have become mushroom beds. Tuffeau quarrymen used to say they could hear the stone sing. Come and taste it, and see it dance!
