The Loire à Vélo Train offers cycle tourists easy boarding of their bike during certain times of the day between Orléans, Tours, Nantes and Le Croisic.
More space for bikes during the summer
The Loire à Vélo train is:
In low season: between 9 and 33 free-access bicycle spaces. They are distributed throughout the train. You can access these spaces if you are traveling with a standard bicycle subject to space being available on board.
In mid season: 33 minimum free-access bicycle spaces, weekends and public holidays in pre-summer and every day in post-summer. They are distributed throughout the train. You can access these spaces if you are traveling with a standard bicycle subject to space being available on board.
In high season: in addition to the 33 free-access bicycle spaces, the installation of a dedicated room with 17 bicycle spaces is set up with an agent to help load and unload bicycles. Its location is indicated by Train Loire à Vélo signage on the train display panels and is marked on the platform by the presence of a banner. If you are traveling with an atypical bicycle (tandem, trailers, etc.), you should go to this area as a priority.
Please note, the Loire Bike Train operates at certain times of the day. See the timetable below. The other trains on the Orléans <> Nantes/Le Croisic line accept standard bicycles, the number of which varies depending on the type of rolling stock.
